I know you’re angry, and I know you’re feeling sad
Things transpired lately have ruined what we had
But I was not alone during all that we went through
On that troubled road, I walked along with you
So I won’t apologize nor accept your misplaced blame
Nor will I argue and defend-- for what would be the aim?
I don’t like this animosity: would rather part as friends
But that can only happen if you see things through my lens
So set aside your prejudice; don’t build it to a cause
Put away your eyeteeth and sheath your wicked claws
Instead recall the good times and how love came to be
Just as I’ll remember, all you have meant to me
Even nations should have learned down the ages and the years
That warring with another never assuaged bitter tears
Nor does war bring closure, or bring our hearts relief
Instead it seeds the soil for further war and grief
So set aside your prejudice; don’t build it to a cause
Put away your eyeteeth and sheath your wicked claws
