It rained so long and heavy yesterday, I felt our house could float away (like in the kid's book "Tatties's River Journey"). Still here but had to pump and dry the yellow room downstairs, and the basement.
Sun and Shadow
I look into the sun
And see shadows
Lying behind the sheds and trees
Underneath the rippling water
And in the depths of your eyes
Winter shadow cool as iris
Summer shadow, soft and brown
I walk half in the sun, half in shadow
The dividing line
Demarcates
I walk in both directions
Leaving a kaleidoscope
Of colored pieces
Falling on my footprints
