I'm Lost

I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost
Searching for life’s meaning
Want to subvert the daily grind
And realize what I’m dreaming

Looked at my so-called friends
All I see are mannequins
Artificial people who are not real
Plastic people who cannot feel
So absorbed with their pretense
Don’t notice truth’s absence
Busy impressing someone else
Don’t notice they’re not themselves

But like them..
I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost
Wondering where I’m going
Not knowing where life is flowing

Children’s programs day by day
No time to stop and play
Imagination’s set aside
Until creativity has died
People running here and there
Trying to grab a breath of air
No time to ponder or to feel
Too busy chasing deal on deal

Like them...
I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost
Life’s meaning still eludes
Want to understand before life concludes

The river's current pulls me down
Head over tail, around and round
Life confuses and confounds
I want to land on higher ground

I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost, I’m lost
Wondering where I’m going
Not knowing where life is flowing
