Sometimes life is Fine

Sometimes life is fine

Green grass, cheese and bread

And a bottle of good wine

Laughter sailing to the lake ahead

Sometimes life is bleak

Cold, dark and overcast

Rain falling in slipping sheets

Fighting memories of a dark past

Mostly life is ordinary

One day following another

Flat as the bald, endless prairie

Predictable as a resolved puzzle

But with love, life sizzles
Crackling, snapping like whips
Hot, heady emotional blizzards
Sparks flying between fingertips

Together completely naked

Whether clothes are off or on

Honesty that leaves one shaken

I’m yours, and you’re the one
