Preservation

Preservation

Walking in the graveyard

The spirits know just who I am

No need to play a game

They’d know me just the same

I hear the rustle of their wings

And voices as their choir sings

I feel the emotions left behind

Some are dark while others shine

What are we clinging to

On this earth all green and blue?

So much we need let go...

Love is all we need to know

Love that gives to all that lives

Love that understands

Fire, water, air and land

Stewards for this spinning globe

Custodians of this divine abode

Before our souls are called home

And corporal bodies turn to loam

Let preservation be our choice

So the spirits will rejoice

The graveyard is a peaceful place

There I walk through time and space
Listening to wisdom and lore
From the souls who've gone before
