Party Girl
Weekend round of parties
Gin ticklers and vodka smashers
Enough dancing to thin the spirits
To remain cognizant of place, time
and unwelcome hopeful hands
Leaving before the dark lifts
Unveiling its consequent of red
and yellow birthing in the east
Falling into bed almost before
Stripping off the small skirt
Snug shirt, and silky hose
Splashing water to dislodge
The mask of powder and paint
Brushing away the lies and
cobwebs of teeth and tongue
Then dreaming of somewhere
Clean and far away and
Someone waiting with open arms
