Unrequited

Life is so damn unfair
For I love you and you don’t care
And I am not the only one
Who loved and was left undone
Remember Liz Cortran?
She loved Billy D. and he just ran

Yes I am not the only one
Who loved and was left undone
Love‘s power makes us feel delighted
But it hurts like hell when it’s unrequited

Rarely do two lovers feel the same
So love seems like a loser’s game
While one is trying way too hard
The other is busy building up their guard
Yet love evokes the gambler’s sin
The belief that the next try will be the win

I am not the only one
Who loved and was left undone
Love‘s power makes us feel delighted
But it hurts like hell when it’s unrequited

Like a midsummer night
Cupid’s arrows fly left and right
Rarely hitting two who know
How to let love in and let it grow
Yet love evokes the gambler’s sin
The belief that the next try will be the win

I am not the only one
Who loved and was left undone
Love‘s power makes us feel delighted
But it hurts like hell when it’s unrequited
